Subtitled ‘A short pictorial history’ this book was written in response to the breakthrough on Bribie Island in 2022. This happened during a high tide and rough weather from Cyclone Seth. There have been a few theories for the breakthroughs. Some say Mother Nature, others say man-made. The Authors invite the reader to make up their own minds after reading the book which includes colour photographs, newspaper articles, diagrams, correspondence, documents and a hydraulic report from 1994.
There was a previous breakthrough on Bribie Island in 1943. The Authors document this breakthrough and other washovers that occurred in the last 100 years in a very readable way in this 92 page book that would be of value to anyone interested in reading about this phenomenon.
