Tobacco Success and Failure by Wendy Dixon

By 1896 tobacco was being cultivated over a vast area of Queensland from Townsville to Redcliffe, through the Downs to Roma, Warwick, Inglewood, Stanthorpe, Ipswich and the Fassifern Valley.

This booklet covers the history of the tobacco industry in the Sunshine Coast region up to the destruction of the last crop in 2006.

In its heyday, this industry supported 70 farms in South-East Queensland. This booklet includes many images, lists of growers and settlement schemes.
